This hat replaced the Tula I bought 12 years ago. I walk 15 miles a week on our greenway. I 've done this for 12 years. It has seen rain and snow. I just wanted a new hat. I now use it for my yard hat. This new one is a little bigger in the rim and I love it. I've had more compliments on it. I like the Quality and these things will last forever.
My husband loves gardening, and in southern California the sun was getting to him. This hat is fantastic. It looks great, and he uses it regularly. Especially love that it was available in bigger sizes.
I bought this for my 4year old and its just perfect! Very well made at a great price compared to other companies. I rather pay a bit more but better quality instead of Paper material... I've been searching and compared prices for a couple of months and decided to go with Tula as it was also referred to me by a friend. I am so happy with it. Looks great and great coverage. My little one loves it. ❤️
I was confused about whether a particular hat was in stock (it was my mistake) and I emailed Tula. The same day I received a response from Alice, Tula’s president. She kindly explained when that hat would be back in stock. I ordered a different Tula hat and it arrived only 2 days later, and I live over 1000 miles away in Florida. Amazing service. The hat (Sierra) is high quality, looks great and fits perfectly. I am impressed by the quality and the service from the head of the company to the shipping department. I will buy another style in the near future.
The Gardener Lattice hat is by far the best gardener’s hat I’ve ever owned! It’s breathable on those hot humid days, and the wide brim provides good sun protection. The stretchy band makes for a comfortable fit and the adjustable chin strap keeps it securely on my head in a strong breeze or when bending over while gardening. Very well made. Last but not least, it’s a good-looking hat!
I've been wearing this particular Tula hat for almost ten years.
When I say "wearing" I mean every time I stick my head out the door.

After 6 years of continuous use, I had to replace one. Then I left one at a family member's home and I think they liked it so much they kept it! So I had to order another one.
There's literally no other hat I would put on my head for sun protection and everywhere I wear it, people ask about it. I have very long hair and I wear it in a topknot on my head, which is why the open crown Tula is PERFECT.

I adore this style hat and have bought it twice now and will probably buy a third when this one retires. It has the highest sun blocking properties, according to a UV test strip, of any hat I've tried, and it's just downright cute! My husband and I are daily hikers in the desert sun, and this is the hat I choose!
The hat sits lightly on my head, so it's easy to wear. I had to use the stripping to make the size small enough - would like an option for a hat built smaller to begin with. (I got the small)
I've worn Tula hats for years. And different models in addition to the Sierra. My understanding is that the Sierra is the design and favorite of one of the family/business patriarchs. The Sierra has some healthy fedora genes. I wear Tulas in the field. Mine are working tools. I do a lot of hiking and camping in the desert southwest. They're not straw, which usually offers little to no protection from the direct, radiated heat of the sun. Tulas are palm. As such, they are densely woven and opaque. They unfailingly protect me from the sun. They're durable, really good looking, and are sold at a decent price. I wear no other kind of hat for the purpose of wide-brimmed protection from the sun and other elements. In town, it's a Panama, of course.
I enjoy my hat and wear it daily. I also tell everyone who will listen that I think my hat is great and they should consider getting one or two.
This hat looks great on. I’m not embarrassed to walk in my neighborhood wearing this one. I need the sun protection, even with sunscreen. I saw this in either Anthropologie or Sundance, can’t remember. I waited months for them to send it, since it was not in stock. So glad I did. The quality is really good, very substantial, flawless. I love it!! I found the maker from the tag inside the hat. Now I can buy one for my sister and a men’s hat for my husband. Two thumbs up!
