Why Straw Hats?
My family has a history of skin cancer, so finding reliable sun protection was a personal mission. I needed a hat that would provide natural shade and comfort while helping prevent sun damage. I knew other gardeners, sun lovers, and anyone that spends time outdoors would appreciate that same level of sun protection.
After exploring options with commercial hat factories in Mexico, we were introduced to a village with a rich tradition of handweaving palm straw hats. The artisans there have been crafting durable, breathable palm hats for over 400 years.
It’s been an honor to work alongside this incredible community. Over time, we’ve built a close relationship based on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to creating high-quality, fair trade straw hats that offer serious UPF 50+ sun protection.

Perfect fit and even came with additional foam inserts in case it didn't fit. Taking it on safari next month and I appreciate the narrower brin in back so I can look up without it hitting the back of my shoulders.
