I love my open crown hat. I can have my hair up in a big bun on top of my head and still have sun protection. However, I would love the hat even more if the brim were wider. I have a 8" brim hat with a closed crown and if y'all at Tula could make this open crown hat with an 8" brim I would be in hat heaven.
I got this hat to wear when I’m rowing my boyfriend’s boat while he fishes. It is perfect for this! It has a good size brim for sun coverage, my head doesn’t get too hot with the open crown, and the strap keeps it snug to my head, even in wind.
I was hesitant to order this hat. I wasn't sure if the brim was too big or if the open top would look right. Boy am I glad I ordered it! This hat is classy and so functional. I get compliments on it all the time. The brim is exactly the right size to keep the sun off my face and neck. The open top allows me to still wear my "messy bun" that so many ladies nowadays wear to the beach or wherever. I absolutely love this hat.
A long time boutique owner that continues to buy from us today suggested that we create a hat without the top. So we took off the top of the Ranch hat to come up with the open crown. You can also wear a scarf over your head if you need more sun protection while wearing this hat. Enjoy!
The open crown is the best way to go. I'm always on the move and constantly wear my hair up in a bun. I love my other Tulsa hat, but I got this open crown hat finally and prefer to wear it. Good quality, fits great!
